so which verses exactly you don’t like or perceive as crap?
The verses which talk about love everybody as you love yourself, or that which says that mercy prides itself over justice or that which says that we are free but must not take our freedom as a cover up for evil deeds.

There are great stories in the Bible and the book is a precious part of literature. The Bible contains plenty platitudes like the “Golden Rule”; the fundamental moral principle of the Bible – “treat others as you would be treated“.
Virtually all major cultures feature this tenet. Arguably, the oldest reference to this rule is found in The Tale of the Eloquent Peasant from The Tale of Sinuhe and Other Ancient Egyptian Poems dated around 1,600 years before the Christ famously spoke the words, and some 300 to 400 years before the earliest traditions of Israel.
Said the great religious apologist C.S. Lewis, “The first thing to get clear about Christian morality between man and man is that in this department Christ did not come to teach any brand new morality. The Golden Rule of the New Testament (do as you would be done by) is a summing up of what everyone, at bottom, had always known to be right.”
Confucius said it in 500BCE; Isocrates said it in 375BCE; the Hindu Mahabharata teaches it since 150BCE.
By all means revere the Bible as as literature, but don not take it as the inerrant words of some “god”. It ain’t. This, methinks, is what the cartoonists are saying.

Nathan, no other book, has so many mystries and that is because, it is the word of God. Cartoonists are sometimes bright in many things and yet, in other things, they are very dim.

Is the Bible really the word of God? Try to read Bible,Ezekiel,23:1-49.
Do fowl have four legs as mentioned in the bible (King james version)? “All fowl that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you (Bible,Leviticus,11:20)
Why the Quran?
The revelation of the Book is from Allah the Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom (Quran, Al-Jathiyah,45:2)
Do they not consider the Quran (with care)? Had it been from other than beside Allah, they would surely have found there in much discrepancy (Quran, An-nisa,4:82)

Dzulhelmi, the book of Ezekiel is a prophetic book and has therefore spiritual messages. It is clear to me that you do not understand this.
The Arabian nations appear to have a problem with Jesus being Jewish and has therefore created a substitute religion. Jesus was no racist, yet many others have through the substitution, confirmed their carnal mindedness and that they are racists, where Jews are in question.
There is no substitution for the true Way, as no one can come to the Father but by Christ, the Way.
Christianity brings about freedom of choice and those whom believe in the Quran, follow dictators and are even killed, should they chose otherwise.

See? That’s two of three who don’t buy your version, Dzulhelmi — at composite odds of 1,000,000 to one. Now we just need van der Merwe to weigh in with his own flavour of infallible biblical knowledge to make a round billion (US, milliard if you’re UK). Maybe you can convince Matthysen and Coetzee. Please feel free to try!

Seen this? (Newser) – Even the Bible isn’t conservative enough for some conservatives. The mysterious “Conservative Bible Project” aims to bring the holy book back to its right-wing “roots” by routing out muddy translation and liberal “bias.” That includes no more “gender inclusive” terms that “emasculate” Christianity and rethinking liberal words like “comrade” and “peace.” Economic parables should be clarified to be “free market” lessons, and hell presented as scary as ever and not “downplayed,” states the conservapedia.com site.

I have a New King James Version Bible.
I can only convey Allah’s message, not convert anyone. It is He (Allah) who decide. But, it is the individual itself to choose either to think and do something about it.
If you have anything to ask, please ask..and I am willing to help.
However, please see a debate in youtube:

Nathan Bond,
I was sadly shaken about you, due to the fact that you write about Bible, but you don’t know nothing about it, what it says, and God who says through it. Stick to something you actually know what you are talking about!

Um, not to piss on your parade or anything, but as I understand it, Nathan has a tertiary qualification in Christian theology.* If so, Nathan knows considerably more about the subject than you appear to suppose.

You have the head knowledge of Bible as a part of literature but you don’t understand it spiritual application because it needs to be discerned by the spirit which in your case is dead. Until you know God and listen to what He says you’ll never understand the Word of God.

Yagodsgirl, have you ever considered that the voice you think is the ‘Spirit’ or God, is just that: voices in your head – which are your own delusions.
Have you considered that all the crap they tell you in church and bible studie (or what ever you do to ‘strenthen’ your faith) are people talking, telling you what to think and do, who also have voices in their heads that are delusions.

Well this is embarrassing that we are talking like this on the sensitive topic like religion & holy books.
But , agreed that internet is the independent way to present our thoughts.
