Religion: Respect? Ridicule!

The RCC on the Holocaust and child molestation

with 7 comments

Benny Dick – some German called Joe Ratzinger living in the Vatican and arrogating to be the representative of “God” – has lifted the excommunication 20 years ago of Holocaust denier Richard Williamson (read the story here) prompting French essayist Matthieu Grimpret to write in the Catholic newspaper La Croix that he was “ashamed to be Catholic”.

Noting that the Church refuses communion to people who remarry after divorcing, Grimpret said the pope’s move gave “the despicable impression that it’s better for Catholics to be anti-Semitic than divorced.”

Yet no Catholic voice was raised two weeks ago when the Vatican’s highest court – the Apostolic Penitentiary, a “tribunal of conscience” – declared defiling the Eucharist more grievous an act than raping a child! No “despicable impression” here, mind – it is a percipient statement of consummate disregard for children. (Read the story here.)

It is incomprehensible that Holocaust denial can trump continuing child molestation for news.

Something is wrong here.

Perhaps religion’s revolting presence has hardened us against compassion.

  1. Con-tester, whats your point?

Bewilderbeast, you really are writing a lot of nonsense and it is clear, you don’t know what God wants us to do. Because one person has acted against God’s will and happens to be a “Christian”, you are so dumb, that you think he did it for God. You have just demonstrated that one cannot take you seriously.

  2. But not the most excellent way. It asks only that you can show sufficient grounds for one’s beliefs.

  3. There are many good Christians who have not yet found the more excellent way.
1Co 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent, way.

  4. The RCC can hand out criticism and judgement, but it seems that it can’t take it, especially when fun is poked at their ridiculous proxy-god and his three parents, only one of whom is substantial.

  5. It is a permanent, ongoing, never-ending blot on ALL of our consciences that so many people in a position of authority are allowed to abuse children. Physically and mentally. It is the world’s most shameful crime and yes, it certainly surpasses any holocausts.

And ALL of us share the blame.

We should be shouting out their names, baying for their blood.
But they have complete protection: They’re doing it FOR GOD.

  6. Sheesh, and these are humanity’s (self-)appointed moral guardians. You know, they’d be a feeble, worth-half-a-titter joke if it wasn’t for (a) such frequent instances where their impositions run so obviously counter to everything that is good and decent and reasonable in people, and (b) the large number of mindless minions who simply lap this cruel gruel up as unassailable Truth™® (℗ & © 325 AD*) without spotting such inherently injurious incongruities.

  7. But don’t you see? Roman Catholics aren’t True Christians™ (®, ℗ & © ±300 AD), just like those other 38,998 groups of pretenders who aren’t either because they have perverted our god’s One True Message™ (®, ℗ & © ±300 AD). Only we know the truth and so it can only be us who are True Christians™ (®, ℗ & © ±300 AD)!
