Nathan Bond's TART Remarks

Religion: Respect? Ridicule!

Elvis is on this bus!

with 11 comments

In reaction to the London bus advertisements that there probably is no God, Christians are hitting back with “There IS a God. BELIEVE…”

Believe.

Belief is simply not good enough. Belief is a copout.

The Scottish geneticist, J.B.S. Haldane, used to say that it is more important to know about Darwin than to believe in Adam or Noah; that it is more important to know that Koch killed cholera that to believe that David killed Goliath; that is is more important to know that the Wright brothers took to the sky than to believe that Jesus did.

“There IS a God.”

Says who!? Where’s your evidence?

How about a bus proclaiming “There IS a Nessie/Yeti/Unicorn/Sasquatch.”

Or how about this on the opposite side of  “There IS a God. BELIEVE…” : “Elvis is on this bus!”

“Irrationally held truths may be more harmful than reasoned errors”, said English biologist Thomas Huxley.

  1. DW, dankie.

Con-tester, I have shown many how to find evidence of God, with success, yet, there are those who are disable and will always be blind.

  4. But you can only say that you have the evidence. You can’t apparently show it to anyone who asks, so what darn good is that?

  5. I have got my evidence of God’s existence and it would appear, that you have not yet got yours.

  7. Elvis!? Are you sure? Because I thought Clapton is god and that The Beatles are more popular than Jesus.

Daai “eendag” is hier dude …. 832 skrale dae
